MESSAGE FROM THE SENIOR ASSOCIATE DEANFOR STUDENTS & ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
It is my pleasure and privilege to serve as the Senior Associate Dean for Student & Academic Affairs. The mission of our office is to maximize the success of our medical students and see that they are optimally prepared for residency and for the future practice of medicine. We work directly with students as well as with other offices and the executive leadership of the university to achieve this.
What an exciting time to be in the field of medicine! Recent technologic advances, including the mapping of the human genome, have been nothing short of astounding. The conversion of this new knowledge to clinical wisdom in caring for our patients is a truly invigorating challenge. Having lived the art, the science and even the business of medicine for the past eighteen years, I can unequivocally say it is still the most wonderful profession in the world! It is a privilege to be a doctor, but certainly one that comes with many responsibilities.
Our students are to be congratulated for their hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence in accepting the responsibilities of being a physician. We are very proud of them, both professionally and personally, and on behalf of the Office of Medical Student Affairs, I wish them every success in achieving their goals.
