POLICY AND ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
- All visiting students must be in their final year of medical school.
- There are no salaries, housing, meals, name badges, uniforms or ID cards provided by the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Tuition will not be charged. If you have a name badge and/or picture ID by our school, please bring it with you. You will be asked to show a form of identification when you report for your rotation.
- Medical students wear short white coats (with shirt and tie required for men and appropriate attire for women.)
- Applications must be received by the Student Affairs Office at least four months prior to beginning requested rotation.
- Clinical elective rotations that say “FOR U OF L STUDENTS ONLY” cannot be approved for visiting students.
- If you are accepted for a clinical rotation, you are expected to honor that commitment. If conditions beyond you control prevent you from coming, please notify the clinical department and the Student Affairs Office in writing immediately. Four weeks notice is required for cancellation in order to be eligible to reschedule your rotation. Exceptions may be made to this rule at the discretion of the University. Once you begin your first rotation, you will not be permitted to make any changes to your schedule.

- We reserve the right to terminate a student’s rotation at U of L if he/she does not comply with the policies and procedures, or if there is an issue with misconduct.
